Casino Turnover Meaning: How to Calculate Turnover and Winover in RM

Turnover decides when bonus money becomes withdrawable. Learn the formula, see real RM examples from Midas55's published terms and check any offer before you claim it.

What Does Turnover Mean in an Online Casino?

In an online casino, turnover is the total value of the bets you place. If you bet RM2 on a slot spin 100 times, your turnover is RM200, whether those spins won or lost. Turnover is not your loss and it is not your profit; it simply counts how much you have staked.

Turnover matters most when you claim a bonus. A bonus usually comes with a turnover requirement (also called a wagering or rollover requirement): you must reach a stated amount of qualifying bets before the bonus, and any winnings made with it, can be withdrawn. Until then, the bonus balance is locked by that condition.

Because the same money can be bet many times, a turnover requirement is normally much larger than the deposit itself. That is why the calculation below is worth doing before you claim, not after.

The Casino Turnover Calculation Formula

Every turnover requirement follows the same basic formula:

Required turnover = calculation base × multiplier

The multiplier is the number written as “x” in the terms, such as 15x or 35x. The calculation base is the amount the multiplier applies to. This is the part people most often miss. Depending on the offer, the base can be the bonus only, or the deposit plus the bonus. The same multiplier can therefore produce very different targets.

Illustrative numbers: RM100 deposit, RM100 bonus, 20x requirement
Calculation baseWorkingRequired turnover
Bonus onlyRM100 × 20RM2,000
Deposit + bonus(RM100 + RM100) × 20RM4,000

The figures in this table are only an illustration of the formula, not a Midas55 offer. Always read which base an offer uses; if the terms are unclear, ask support before you deposit.

Worked Example: Midas55 255% Slots Welcome Bonus

When we checked the Midas55 bonus terms on 7 October 2026, the 255% Golden Tempest slots welcome bonus required a minimum deposit of RM500 and a turnover of 35x on the deposit plus the bonus. At the minimum deposit, the calculation looks like this:

  • Deposit: RM500
  • Bonus: 255% of RM500 = RM1,275
  • Calculation base: RM500 + RM1,275 = RM1,775
  • Required turnover: RM1,775 × 35 = RM62,125

RM62,125 is the cumulative value of qualifying bets, not an amount you must deposit or lose. It is still a large target, so compare it with your budget and the stake size you normally play before you choose this offer. The same example is shown in the worked example on our bonus page.

A Lower Multiplier Can Matter More Than a Bigger Percentage

On the same date, the 155% slot welcome bonus listed a RM50 minimum deposit and 18x on the deposit plus the bonus. At RM50, the bonus is RM77.50, the base is RM127.50 and the required turnover is RM127.50 × 18 = RM2,295. The headline percentage is lower, but the requirement is far smaller in absolute terms. This is why the percentage alone is not a good way to compare offers.

Which Bets Count Towards Turnover?

Only qualifying bets reduce a turnover requirement. Each offer lists the games or markets that count, and bets on anything else do not move you closer to the target.

For example, the Midas55 slots welcome offers we checked count slot games but exclude APP Slot titles such as Pussy888, Mega888, 918Kiss and 918Kaya, and they do not count fishing, arcade, card or board games. The sportsbook welcome offer counts major leagues only, and cancelled, void, draw, rejected and cash-out bets do not count.

Before you play under a bonus, confirm three things in the offer terms:

  • Which game categories or providers are included.
  • Which bet types are excluded, such as void or cashed-out bets.
  • Whether any rule limits your stake while the bonus is active.

Turnover vs Winover: What Is the Difference?

Some Malaysian casino promotions use winover instead of turnover. Turnover counts how much you bet. Winover is a winnings-based condition: the promotion sets a target amount that must be reached before you can withdraw.

Midas55 uses both. On 7 October 2026, the terms of the 100% APP Slot welcome bonus stated an 8x winover on the deposit plus the bonus, with the example RM200 × 8 = RM1,600. The general explanation on the promotions page describes winover as being calculated on winnings, so confirm with Midas55 support exactly which balance needs to reach the target before you claim that offer.

The 10% daily deposit bonus used a 3x winover on the deposit plus the bonus. With a RM100 deposit, the bonus is RM10 and the winover target is (RM100 + RM10) × 3 = RM330.

When you compare offers, do not set a turnover number beside a winover number as if they measure the same thing. Read each condition on its own terms.

Free Credit and Bonus Turnover: Checks Before You Claim

“Free credit” offers are heavily advertised in Malaysia, and they are subject to the same mathematics. A small credit with a high multiplier, a short expiry or a low cash-out cap can be worth far less than the headline amount. Whatever the offer is called, check these points first:

  1. Calculation base and multiplier. Work out the required turnover or winover in RM using the formula above.
  2. Qualifying games. Make sure the games you actually play count.
  3. Minimum qualifying deposit. At Midas55 the general account minimum is RM10, but a RM10 deposit does not qualify for a welcome bonus.
  4. Claim limits. Midas55 allows one welcome bonus per member for the lifetime of the account, and each welcome bonus is limited to one claim per member, household, IP address, device, bank account and contact number.
  5. Early withdrawal. The Midas55 promotions page says that if you withdraw before the requirement is met, the bonus and any winnings from it are forfeited, while your own deposit is not affected.
  6. Changes to the offer. Promotions can be amended or cancelled, so read the current terms on the Midas55 promotions page on the day you claim.

Our bonus terms checklist covers the same points in a table you can use for any offer.

How to Track Your Turnover Progress

Use the progress shown in your own account rather than your own estimate, because only qualifying bets are counted. In the Midas55 Cash Out screen, outstanding withdrawal conditions are shown with “In Progress” labels; our withdrawal guide shows what that screen looks like.

Keep a simple record of the date you claimed the bonus, the deposit amount and the requirement. If the progress looks wrong, contact support with your username and the promotion name instead of continuing to play to “test” it.

Common Turnover Mistakes to Avoid

  • Comparing bonuses by percentage instead of by required turnover in RM.
  • Assuming the multiplier applies to the bonus only when the terms say deposit plus bonus.
  • Playing excluded games and expecting them to count.
  • Requesting a withdrawal before the requirement is met and losing the bonus winnings.
  • Raising stakes to finish a requirement faster. Turnover is a condition of the offer, not a target you have to chase.
  • Ignoring volatility while chasing a large RM turnover target. Two slots with a similar RTP can drain a balance at very different speeds; read our RTP versus volatility guide before you pick a game for bonus play.

Casino Turnover FAQ

Do losing bets count towards turnover?

Generally yes. Turnover counts the value of qualifying bets, not their result. Excluded bet types, such as void or cashed-out sports bets under the Midas55 sportsbook terms, do not count.

Is a bigger bonus percentage always better?

No. Work out the required turnover in RM. A smaller percentage with a lower multiplier can be much easier to complete than a large percentage with a high one.

Can I withdraw my deposit before finishing the turnover?

Under the Midas55 promotions page, withdrawing early forfeits the bonus and any winnings from it, while your deposit is not affected. Check the current terms for the offer you hold.

Where do I start if I want to claim an offer?
